Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

How to opt out of advertising-related sharing and targeted advertising.

What “selling” and “sharing” mean here

Seattle On A Budget, published by Orient Blue LLC, does not sell your name, email address, or newsletter list for money.

However, like most free websites, we show ads and use affiliate links. Our advertising partners, such as Google AdSense, Ezoic, or Mediavine, use cookies and similar technologies to collect information like your device ID, IP address, and the pages you visit. They use it to show you ads based on your interests across other websites. Some US state privacy laws, including those in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, Texas, and Virginia, may treat this as a “sale” of personal information, “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising, or “targeted advertising.”

You have the right to opt out of it, wherever you live. See our Privacy Policy for the full list of what we collect.

    How to opt out

You do not need an account, and we will not ask for more information than we need.

    1. Email us. Send a message with the subject line “Do Not Sell or Share” to privacy@seattleonabudget.com. Include the email address you used with us, if any, and the state you live in.
    2. Use industry opt-out tools. Opt out of personalized Google ads at Google Ads Settings, and of many ad companies at aboutads.info/choices and the NAI opt-out page.
    3. Use browser privacy settings. You may block or delete cookies in your browser and use its Global Privacy Control setting or extension if available. Because there is not yet an on-site privacy-choice control connected to our ad partners, email us for a direct request.

Browser- and cookie-based opt-outs may need to be repeated if you clear cookies or switch browsers or devices.

What happens after you opt out

    • You may still see ads. Where an opt-out has been applied by an ad partner, those ads should not use your browsing on other sites for targeting.
    • Affiliate links still work. Partners may use a cookie to confirm a purchase came from our Site so that we can be paid, not to target ads at you.
    • We process email requests within 15 business days, and in any case within the time the law requires.
    • We will not charge you, deny you access, or treat you differently for opting out.
    • We will wait at least 12 months before asking you to opt back in.

    Using an authorized agent

Someone else can submit an opt-out request for you if you give them written permission. We may ask the agent for proof of that permission.
