Where to stay in Belltown comes down to how late you plan to stay up. It is one of the busiest nightlife districts in the city and also one of the most convenient bases, with downtown, Pike Place Market, Seattle Center and Lower Queen Anne all within walking distance, according to a Lonely Planet guide. Hotels in Belltown are packed closer together than in most neighborhoods, so you can compare a lot of choices without leaving the area. For hotels in the rest of the downtown core, see our guide to where to stay in downtown Seattle.

This post lists up to three of the highest-rated places and three budget picks for each type of stay, and it names the booking site behind every number. Sites use different scales and change often, so all ratings and prices here are as of October 21, 2026. Prices are "from" rates for the sample dates shown on each site, not quotes. Check the live price and your dates before you book.

    Neighborhood Vibes

Belltown is a busy, energetic district. Offices fill the streets by day, and bars, pubs and venues take over at night, according to Expedia's Belltown guide, which describes an arts and partying scene that thrives among the skyscrapers. First Avenue is the main commercial strip, with shops, bars and restaurants serving dishes from many countries. Lonely Planet describes the neighborhood as long on dining and entertainment but relatively short on daytime attractions, with an after-dark scene that is hip and noisy and rarely stands still. It also warns about drunken revelers on the sidewalks, so expect a rowdy street scene on weekend nights.

The upside is walkability. Both guides call Belltown highly walkable, with downtown, Pike Place Market, Seattle Center and Lower Queen Anne within reach on foot. Olympic Sculpture Park, a free open-air art garden on the waterfront, anchors the neighborhood, according to Lonely Planet and Expedia.

Living or staying here means trading quiet for convenience. If you sleep lightly, ask for a room away from 1st and 2nd Avenues, or look at the south end near downtown.

    Getting Around

    • Link light rail: Westlake and University Street stations serve downtown. Confirm which is closer to your hotel on a map. See our guide to getting from SeaTac to downtown Seattle for the airport ride.
    • Monorail: it connects Westlake Center and Seattle Center in about two minutes. The adult one-way fare is $4 per Wikipedia, and it accepts ORCA cards.
    • Buses and streetcar: Lonely Planet says most buses run up and down 3rd Ave from downtown, and Expedia says streetcars run up Westlake Avenue. Confirm routes for your address.
    • Seattle Center: see our Queen Anne itinerary for what is nearby.
